Dr. Adesola Adeduntan Adds Another Feather To His Cap, Bags Doctor Of Science, Honoris Causa From Cranfield University

In recognition of his distinguished career in finance and contribution to the continued growth of the business and financial landscape, Dr. Adesola Adeduntan, CEO, First Bank of Nigeria Limited has been conferred with a Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa by Cranfield University, Cranfield, United Kingdom.

The conferment on Dr. Adeduntan will be held on Wednesday, June 22 and he is scheduled to deliver a short address to the graduating class of the university. An alumnus of the University, Dr. Adeduntan studied at Cranfield University as a British Chevening Scholar, achieving an MBA in 2005.

Congratulating Dr. Adeduntan for the recognition, the Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University, Professor Karen Holford CBE FREng said; “It is an honour to welcome Dr Adeduntan back to Cranfield to recognise all his professional achievements in this way. His own experience at Cranfield University has propelled his career forward and this serves as a true inspiration for our graduates both this year and in the future.”

In a message from President Muhammadu Buhari, he described Dr Adesola Adeduntan’s acheivement as “another testament to the fact that Nigeria is blessed with the brightest and the best in all areas of human endeavor.” President Buhari further lauded Adeduntan for being a role model to the younger generation, showing that hard work pays, and with resourcefulness and doggedness, great heights are achievable.
Expressing his delight on the recognition, Dr Adeduntan said: “I am extremely humbled and most grateful to the University for this recognition. My time at Cranfield served as a catalyst for my professional and personal development propelling me to the leadership position I occupy today.

With many awards under his belt, 2022 has been an illustrious year for Dr. Adeduntan. Among the awards received are Best Commercial Bank Executive 2022 by Capital Finance International; Leadership Banker of the Year by Leadership Newspaper. Others are The Banking Icon of the Decade by The Sun Newspaper and African Leadership Legacy Award by African Leadership Organisation.

Barely two years ago, Dr. Adeduntan was recognized with the Cranfield School of Management Distinguished Alumnus of the year Award 2020.
