Graduate Trainees

The Graduate Trainee Programme is a yearly recruitment exercise, aimed at attracting young, dynamic and talented individuals to meet the growing manpower requirements across the enterprise, thereby creating a pool of future leaders who will take the Bank to the next level.

The programme is specially designed for fresh graduates below the age of 27 years who possess the minimum academic qualification of bachelor’s degree with a second-class lower division or HND upper credit, with the right behavioural traits. This programme feeds into the Bank’s career and succession planning to create a pool of replacement candidates for internal staff identified for other career opportunities across departments/directorates, thereby enhancing employees’ career mobility in the Bank.

Experienced Hires

This recruitment route is specifically designed for experienced workers and focuses on functional and behavioural competencies, hands-on experience and potentials/skills possessed by candidates that they can bring on board.

Experienced Hire recruitment is driven by a well-articulated manpower plan and target operating model across the various functional areas of the Bank.  Such recruitment is targeted at candidates seeking full-time employment opportunity in the Bank on Banking Assistant grade and above.

Technology Boot Camp

The Technology Boot Camp is a Pipeline-led Talent Sourcing Strategy specially designed to attract top talents into various technology functions in the Bank.

The Boot Camp is a recruitment fair targeted at technology talents across a wide spectrum of functions leveraging various battery of tests to assess candidates’ suitability along both technical and behavioural competency areas.

The campaign is launched yearly through the various electronic channels to attract potentially suitable candidates who meet the specified criteria for the roles, including internal career portal, LinkedIn and collaborating with third-party vendors. The focus is to create a large pool of technology-inclined talents that we can draw upon, whenever the need arises in the technology space. This recruitment scheme encompasses several activities that aim at assessing various on-the-job competencies and behaviours.

The scheme is specifically designed for experienced hires with a minimum of two years hands-on work experience.

Service Executive Conversion Programme

The Service Executive Conversion Programme (SECP) is a scheme put in place by the Bank to provide a career opportunity for suitably qualified Service Executives working in the Bank to transition into full-time employees.

This opportunity is aimed at ensuring that the Bank’s Talent Management Philosophy continues to provide all segments of our Workforce an enriching and truly rewarding career.

Internship Programme

Our internship programme offers a unique platform for students to bring to life their theoretical knowledge into the business environment and gain hands-on practical experience relevant to their field of study. As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in our operations and deepen your knowledge and understanding of our work ethics, thereby creating an opportunity for you transition into full-time employee in the Bank.

Internal Sourcing

Part of FirstBank’s talent development philosophy is a commitment to ensure internal employees have the opportunity to continuously learn and build diverse experience during their career journey with the Bank.

In line with this drive, career opportunities are usually advertised on the Bank’s career portal to elicit responses from internal candidates who meet the pre-defined criteria for the vacant roles. Through this platform, employees are given opportunities to enhance their career mobility index by deepening their skills, knowledge and competencies across various functional areas and thereby boost their work experience, add new knowledge and leverage their cross-functional capabilities to make a difference in the Bank.
