Oluseyi Popoola Oyefeso was appointed the Executive Director, Retail Banking South in January 2023. Prior to this appointment, he was the Group Executive, Retail Banking South Division, a position he held briefly after serving as the Group Executive, Commercial Banking Group since January 2016. Seyi was the Country Managing Director, FBNBank Ghana Limited from 2014-2016.
He brings to the Board of FirstBank over 25 years extensive management experience in the banking and financial services industry with cross functional exposure to Product Sales and Marketing; Corporate and Commercial Banking; Retail Banking; Credit Risk Management (Analysis & Administration); Financial Control; and general banking operations.
Seyi commenced his professional career in 1993 and joined FirstBank in 2006 as a Branch Manager. He has since held different positions such as Business Development Manager; Group Head, Retail Banking; and Group Head, Institutional Banking (Services and Conglomerates). In these various roles, he was instrumental to the unparalleled growth recorded by the businesses under his leadership, making the division highly profitable.
Seyi holds a degree in Accounting from Yaba College of Technology. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in Nigeria. He an alumnus of Lagos Business school and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvanian. He has attended various management trainings globally.
He is happily married with three children and enjoys football and tennis as his hobbies.
