Idris Ibrahim is the Group Executive, Retail Banking (North) Division, First Bank of Nigeria Limited. Until his appointment in April 2024, he was Group Head, Public Sector (North 1), Abuja.
He has over 34 years’ experience spanning banking, audit, and finance where he demonstrated his skills in leading and managing large teams to deliver consistently high performances. Prior to joining FirstBank in 2004, he worked with reputable audit and development finance institutions and served at various management levels.
Idris holds a Master of Science degree in Banking and Finance and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting both from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Honourary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, and other professional associations.
He has attended several management training courses at home and abroad- including Lagos Business School, IESE Business School, Barcelona and INSEAD AMP Singapore, amongst others. He also has several research publications to his credit.
Idris is married with children and enjoys meeting people, networking and travelling as pastimes.
