Patrick Iyamabo is the Finance Director of First Bank of Nigeria Limited (“FirstBank”), responsible for the finance function of FirstBank and all its subsidiaries. Prior to his appointment to the Board, he was the Chief Financial Officer, a position he held since 2016.
Patrick brings to the Board of FirstBank over 28 years of professional experience in audit, assurance, risk management, business development, accounting, and finance, with local and multinational institutions, within and outside Nigeria.
Prior to joining FirstBank, he was Senior Vice President of Strategy and M&A at First City Monument Bank Limited, then the Group Chief Financial Officer of FCMB Group Plc, separate roles he managed for almost a decade. He also worked at Arthur Andersen as auditor, strategy consultant and then risk consultant, where he was a founding member of the risk management practice. At various times, Patrick worked with Booz Allen Hamilton in New York and LEK Consulting in Boston, providing strategic management and specialized corporate finance services to private and listed corporations. Earlier in his career, he also worked with Pfizer in Lagos and New York.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) from the Ahmadu Bello University. He also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with dual majors in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He attended INSEAD in Singapore as part of the MBA exchange program with Wharton. Patrick is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School, where he is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program.
He is a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA); Fellow, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCITN); Member, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria; Honorary Senior Member, the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB); and Member, Institute of Directors of Nigeria (M.IoD).
