About The Entrepreneur Mindset
The Entrepreneur Mindset is a mentoring session with the Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Ltd., Mrs. Ibukun Awosika aimed at preparing students, especially those in their final or penultimate year who are looking forward to life after school as entrepreneurs or who have already started some form of business and would like to learn the requisite skills for growing their business in a sustainable manner.
This conference would help demystify entrepreneurship and provide participants with a clear path to what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
The first edition of the Entrepreneur Mindset Series held in October 2017 in OAU, the second in April 2018, in conjunction with the Edo State government, the third edition in Unilag edition with the Chairman of FirstBank and other special guests such as the popular author and online course trainer, Stephanie Obi, Lekan Olude, one of the co-founders of Jobberman, Jide Ipaye, CEO of the trendy Keex trainers addressed over 1500 students on the path they chose and shared their own individual journeys of career development or entrepreneurship.

There are a number of different routes to take as students contemplate what to do after university – and everyone’s journey will be different. The Entrepreneur Mindset forms part of the FirstBank Youth proposition, comprising of the dedicated Youth account Xplore First.
In addition, FirstBank has developed a program which aims to provide students with the necessary tools required to ensure that as they transit from University into the big wide world, they already possess the required tools and resources to make the next necessary decisions about which path they will take; work or entrepreneurship.

Meet the Host
Ibukun Awosika is the Chairman, Board of Directors, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Nigeria’s premier and most valuable banking brand. She is also the founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Chair Centre Group. The companies within the group include: The Chair Centre Limited, Sokoa Chair Centre Limited, Furniture Manufacturers Mart, TCC Security Systems and Cubes and Boxes Limited. These companies are involved in manufacturing, retail and bank-way security systems services.
Ibukun is a graduate of Chemistry from University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Nigeria; an alumna of the Chief Executive Programme of Lagos Business School; the Global Executive MBA of IESE Business School, Barcelona-Spain; and Global CEO Programme of Wharton, IESE and China European International Business School (CEIBS).
