New to e-learning, and considering using the FirstBank e-learning initiatives for yourself, children or wards?
Well, we believe the best customer/user is an informed one. So we’ve rounded up some of the frequent questions we hear from new and prospective users and provided answers to them. If you’re thinking of using the FirstBank e-learning initiatives for online learning, here’s what you need to know.
How to Access FirstBank e-learning initiatives?
- Visit the FirstBank website firstbanknigeria.com
- Click on the banner – Don’t stop learning! – to sign up for the FirstBank’s e-learning initiatives
- Click on the drop down session on your preferred e-learning and click start learning
- To complete registration, fill in your required personal details and click submit. (i.e Name, Age, Gender, email address, mobile telephone number, Name of school/location) If you’re registering for your child/ward, please provide your details under Parent/Guardian)
- Create a unique password in not more than 6 characters to enable your login.
Does FirstBank e-learning initiatives use my data? How?
On the IBM website, your basic personal data is obtained when your IBMid was created. This includes your user ID, name, email address, country, and related information you may provide (for example, your mailing address). More information on our processing can be found in the IBM Privacy Statement
On the Roducate website, your personal information is collected from you as a user on the website. Please read carefully https://www.roducate.com/privacypolicy to understand the views and practices regarding your personal information
The purpose of storing your data is simply to better manage our relationship with you, communicate with you when necessary and to enhance your user experience etc.
Do users need to sign in with their email address? What email should I use?
If you’re registering for your children/wards, then it is more likely that they might not have an email address. Unfortunately, learners do need one in order to sign in and take lectures. Our advice is to work with parents/guardians, who will be able to provide their email address, or sign up for a simple gmail/yahoo account to use for the course. We advise you use your personal email address.
What types of courses/lectures are available on the Roducate platform?
A broad range of Primary, Secondary and tertiary programs are available, offered by both public and private schools and universities accredited by Government approved curriculum as well as extra-curricular activities. The platform has ten modules which includes:

- Tutorial/revision videos
- Assignments/classwork for students
- Life skills
- My Notes
- Public Spirit
- Talk to a Counsellor
How to access lectures on the Roducate platform?
When users login to the e-learning platform, they can view a list of courses on their dashboard. The steps to review a course on are as follows:
- Click on “Lectures”
- Select the term to start with (Term 1, 2 or 3), at the side of the page you can select the subject you wish to start with.
- Select your preferred course to begin with from the drop down bar, begin learning and navigate to the next course once completed.
I cannot hear any sound. What can I do?
Check to make sure that your speakers and/or headphones are plugged in and the volume is turned up. For PC users make sure that your mute box is unchecked. You can adjust the volume by dragging the volume side-bar.
What kind of device can I use to access the e-learning solutions?
You can access the courses with your mobile devices along with desktop and computers by setting its screen dimension to the device you have,. In other words, the e-learning solution will adjust to match your device size, thus letting you access the course at appropriate breakpoints.
What do I need to know before taking online exams?
General instructions for your exams are:
- Make sure that your internet browser meets the minimum requirement for web browsing (which is what – can we indicate options?). We recommend that you always have an up-to-date version installed in your computer.
- Disengage call waiting if you are on dial-up.
- You can choose to either take exam with timer or without timer.
- Once in the exam area, NEVER use the back button on your browser or resize the window. Please be careful.
What do I do if have technical problems?
You should check you are connected to the internet. Also, refresh the page if you encounter any error (but don’t press the back button?).
What kind of contact with counsellor and other online students will I have on the Roducate platform?
In e-Learning classes, you can interact with others via the comments section and play games with multiple players. A counsellor will be available online virtually to answer to your questions You’re given 10 slots of engagement with a counsellor per week.
What type and version of browser will I need for online classes?
It is recommended that you use the latest version of Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer for Windows and Firefox or Safari for Mac. Each of these is available for free download.
Do I have to complete a course in one go?
No, you can visit it at any time, wherever you are. Each course is made up of a number of individual modules which enables you to complete it in your own time and at times convenient to you.
How will I know when my free 1-month subscription license expires and how do I continue learning on the Roducate platform?
We will send you an email before your subscription is about to expire offering you the opportunity to purchase. Please ensure your contact details are always kept up to date to ensure you receive this email. E-learning is a one-time investment, and once your free one-month subscription has expired you would be required to renew your subscription via card or SMS. Below is the estimated break-down of the costs:

What if I forget my login details?
If you forget your login details please visit the Roducate https://www.roducate.com/ or IBM website https://developer.ibm.com/digitalnation/africa/#wpcf7-f27084-o2 and click on Sign in to enter your ‘Email address’ or IBMid, then click ‘Forgot password’ and change password.
How long will each lecture/course take?
Each course is the equivalent of a day’s classroom training and the courses on IBM are 2-3 hours max.
Can I redo my exam?
Yes, you can. You can also practice through the past questions.
Who Can Benefit?
The e-learning initiatives meet the needs of many types of students, depending on their educational needs ranging from primary, secondary, tertiary student, youth and working individuals.
How can I access the pre-school and early learning (literacy and numeracy)?
Visit google play store on your android device and download the apps as shown in the website ensuring that the image icon matches with what is being displayed. This is not available for IOS users.
How often is courses on the IBM platform updated?
The IBM Digital Nation continuously seek to get users feedback, review the latest technology market insights and update the courses accordingly.
When there are major updates to the courses, it is madeavailable as new versions (e.g. Artificial Intelligence V2).
What is an IBM Digital Badge?
In today’s ever-expanding online marketplace, communicating your credentials can be challenging. IBM credentials are recognized, respected and valued globally in the IT industry. You can quickly and easily share the verified proof of your achievement wherever and whenever you want. Where applicable, your IBM credentials will be represented by a digital image that contains verified metadata describing your qualifications and the rigorous process necessary to earn them.
When am I considered eligible to earn a badge?
You will receive an IBM Digital badge when you successfully pass one of the online evaluations with a score 80% or more. An email will be sent to your registered email address by Credly’s Acclaim with instructions on how to claim your badge.
Why can’t I see my previous badge on My Dashboard? What happens to my previous badge when a new version of a course is available on the site?
Users who have already obtained a digital badge for the previous version of the course will be able to view their badge on My Dashboard and are encouraged to take the new version to acquire the new badge. Once you complete the new course and obtain the new badge, your old badge will no longer appear on My Dashboard.
Where do I track my courses on the IBM platform?
With the new and improved design of My Dashboard, not only you can see all your courses and progress, but also access the important Tools & your bookmarked all in one place.
