When I first moved to the UK, I used to miss going out a lot. Unlike Naija, where you can decide to go out and flex at 7pm. Here, I have to plan a week ahead because all my friends were staying 2-3 hours’ distance from me.
So, my friends and I organized what we called ‘Asaro nights’ when we will hang out at one Nigerian restaurant or the other to eat Asaro (Porridge) or pepper soup, then step down with malt just so we can connect with Naija once in a while.
