FirstBank drives humanitarian support for Sierra Leone Mudslide Victims

As part of its commitment to drive sustainable development of the communities in which it does business, First Bank of Nigeria Limited and its subsidiaries has identified and empathized with the victims of mudslides and floods that devastated parts of Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown and left over 400 people dead and over 3000 rendered homeless and more than 600 people missing.

To garner resources for support of victims of the mudslide disaster, the Bank has launched a fund raising drive and has encouraged staff members to participate in this noble venture to collectively render succour and hope to the needy as part of its Employee Giving and Volunteering Scheme, which has as one of its objectives the provision of humanitarian service to people and its business communities.

The Bank has also called on its customers and members of the public to join in this cause by donating to provide the needed succuour to the victims in this trying period. According to Adesola Adeduntan, MD/CEO, First Bank of Nigeria Limited and Subsidiaries, the Bank would continue to accommodate the citizenship approach which includes considering the needs of its stakeholders and working to meet those needs in line with its corporate responsibility and sustainability strategy.
