First Bank of Nigeria Plc has clinched the prestigious
University of Ibadan Diamond Benefactor Award, instituted by
the University’s Advancement Board to recognize corporate
organizations for sustained commitment to the premier
institution. The award was presented by the Ooni of Ife, Oba
Okunade Sijuwade at the launch of the University’s Five-year
Capital Campaign (2007 – 2011), in Lagos.

(Information and Communication Technology Park).
Other dignitaries at the ceremony included Vice President
Dr. Jonathan Goodluck, Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji
Fashola (SAN), and Nigeria’s former Head of State, General

Board Chairman. The ceremony was also witnessed by Emir of
Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba
Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo.
The award was received on behalf of the Bank by the
Executive Director, Risk & Management Control, Mr. Sanusi
Lamido Sanusi who was accompanied by his Corporate Banking
counterpart, Mrs. Bola Adesola.
By this award, the Bank’s consistent performance in all
spheres has once again been acknowledged. In the last couple
of years, the Bank received the reputable US-based Global
Finance Magazine Awards as the Best Emerging Market Bank as
well as the Best Foreign Exchange Bank in Nigeria. Equally
it received, for the 12th time, the prestigious
