FIRSTBANK REWARDS EXCELLENCE AT ANNUAL CEO AWARD
Over 6,000 staffers of First Bank of Nigeria Plc will compete for
various laurels at the 2006 edition of FirstBank CEO
Annual Merit Award (CAMA) scheduled for the Expo Hall of Eko Hotel &
Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday, December 9, 2006.
The annual ceremony, which made its debut last year, is aimed at
rewarding and encouraging members of staff who performed creditably
well during the last financial year ended March, 2006.
Expectedly, this
year’s edition, like the maiden one, will have leading personae in
the public and private sectors as well as diplomatic corps in
attendance. The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir
el-Rufai, who is the Guest Speaker, will speak on “Culture of
Service Excellence in Corporate Transformation”. The choice of the
topic is in sync with FirstBank’s determination to expand the
frontiers of service excellence in its operations.
The
British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Richard Gozney is the
Special Guest of Honour.
Nominees for the
awards would be drawn from six broad departments of the Bank. These
include Corporate/Commercial/Agric Finance Unit; Retail Banking;
Ancillary; Product Group; Support Services Staff and Support
Function Staff categories.
Under the Corporate/Commercial/Agric Finance Unit, winners would
emerge in the Corporate Banking Strategic Business Unit (SBU),
Commercial Banking and Treasury while the best hands in Business
Development Offices and Branches under Retail Banking, would go home
with various prizes.
In
the Products Group, those who excelled in their performances would
be rewarded in the Consumer Banking Products, Cards and Channels and
Western Union Money Transfer departments. Other group categories
include Support Services Staff where prize winners would emerge from
the Company Secretary’s Department; Budget & Performance; General
Services; Human Capital Management; Information Technology and
Training & Development.
For Support
Functions Staff, the best performing staff would be compensated in
the Compliance; Classified Asset Management; Internal Audit; Legal
Services; Risk & Management Control; Service Quality Management;
Domestic Banking Operations; Foreign Operations; Corporate Planning
& Group Coordination, and Financial Control Departments.
