In harmony with its ongoing far-reaching corporate transformation, First Bank of Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Urum Kalu (UK) Eke as Executive Director, subject to the approval of Central Bank of Nigeria. The appointment is geared to further enhance the capacity of the Executive Management and Board, by deepening specialization and strengthening the corporate governance culture. Mr. Eke is a seasoned chartered accountant, management consultant and banker who brings to bear on the Board, his varied skills and well-rounded work experience. Eke was until his new appointment Executive Director, Regional Businesses, Lagos & West, Diamond Bank Plc.

Eke is a chartered accountant, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Project Management Technology. He has extensive experience in banking, spanning over 26 years with exposure in auditing, consulting, taxation, process engineering, investment banking, commercial financial advisory services and capital market operations. He is a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants Nigeria and Member, Institute of Directors and Institute of Management Consultants.
He started his career at Deloitte Haskins and Sells (Chartered Accountants) rising up to Audit Senior/Consultant. He had a stint with Abacus Merchant Bank as Assistant Manager in charge of Audit, Management Control Process, Loan Review Process and Corporate Finance. Thereafter, he joined Diamond Bank as Assistant Manager, holding various regional, divisional and strategic business development positions before attaining the post of Executive Director, Regional Businesses, Lagos & West.
An astute professional, Eke has attended various executive management programmes in top rated business schools including Harvard, Stanford, Lagos Business School as well as IESE Spain and Oxford University. Eke is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. He is married with children.
